Zimmerman does this by giving expert opinions and researchers and their experiments they tested about the brain's functions. Ultimately, the author informs us about how the brain functions when we sleep and ways we could prune our synapses when we sleep and to not take sleeping drugs due to the reason that it could interfere with the person creating memories.

In the article "The Purpose of Sleep? To Forget Scientist Say," by Carl Zimmerman argues that there are different response to why we sleep and one specific purpose of sleep. This issue affects pretty much everyone because we all sleep and we would know why we do it. This issue matter so we don't mess up our brain synapses so we could create memories instead of losing them. I could agree to their argument of what happens when we sleep because they give research and experiments from trustworthy sources. I relate to this topic because i love sleep and knowing why we doit is good for me so I don't ruin my brain. I recommend sleep because it is good for you and to try not to take drugs because of effects it has to your memories.
